Universe, International Business Consulting is honoured to have Mr Polson advising the firm as an independent consultant. He practises banking law and tax law and has extensive experience in the curatorship of banks, such as Saambou, Regional bank, New Republic bank, African bank and various ponzi schemes through his acting for the South African Reserve bank and the functions and duties of a central banker. He also has many years of experience in the regulation of professions such as attorneys, doctors, engineers, pharmacists and educators and the regulation of the medical profession.
Mr Polson’s wide range of professional preferences includes practice areas such as criminal, civil, commercial, mining and mineral and tax law and international trade law. He also acts for the departing members in calculations of their entitlements in the Associated Institution Pension Fund and the Saambou Pension Fund on pension fund law.
Mr Polson obtained his BA, LLB from the University of Stellenbosch in 1968. He became partner at Rooth and Wessels Inc. in 1973 and continued his formal education where he graduated with post graduate degrees in banking law and tax law at the Rand Afrikaans University, now the University of Johannesburg, and Wits respectively. After 45 years in the legal profession he is the appointed curator of money market, equity and security funds and is often requested to act a as Acting Judge of the Supreme Court of South Africa.
